Qizhou Duan

About Me

I am a psychometrician who works on K-12 assessments products at Pearson. I earned my Ph.D. in Psychometrics and Quantitative Psychology from the University of Notre Dame in 2026, where my work focused on response-time modeling, non-parametric item response theory, and differential item functioning. More broadly, I am interested in improving measurement accuracy and fairness through process data and modern statistical methods. You can find my CV here.

Response Time Models

Developing methods to use response time data in psychometric analysis and detection of item biases.

Differential Item Functioning

Investigating methods for detecting and analyzing item bias in educational and psychological testing.

Survival Analysis

Applying and developing methods for analyzing time-to-event data and censored outcomes in educational and behavioral research.
